Derlis González extends contract - 07 June 2012 |
Benfica have officially announced the contract extension of young Paraguayan forward Derlis González until 2018.
The striker, now 18, signed for the Lisbon club in October 2011 and has had his release fee clause bumped to €30m in the contract extension.
Derlis will remain in Paraguay for the next few weeks and then travel to Portugal where he will join his new teammates for 2012/13 pre-season campaign which kicks-off on 2nd July.
"I am anxious to start working and getting to know my new colleagues. Playing with the Benfica shirt will be a dream come true, but first I need to show my qualities to the coach. I know the fans are very demanding and I want to help the team to give them joy."
