Sport Lisboa e Benfica's 2012/13 senior football season has officially begun after players turned up in Seixal training complex for registration this morning.
Total of 28 players were present and subject to initial medical tests.
New signings Paulo Lopes (Feirense), Luisinho (Paços de Ferreira), Ola John (Twente), Hugo Vieira (Gil Vicente) and Michel (Paços de Ferreira) had their first encounter with manager Jorge Jesus as Benfica players.
Carlos Martins (Granada), Yartey (Servette), Melgarejo (Paços de Ferreira), Enzo Pérez (Estudiantes), Alan Kardec (Santos) and Mora (Peñarol) all reported after returning from loan.
Right-back Maxi Pereira (Uruguay) and striker Nélson Oliveira have special leave of absence and will return on 7th and 18th July respectively due to International duty during holidays.
Goalkeepers: Artur Moraes, Paulo Lopes and Mika
Defenders: Luisão, Garay, Miguel Vítor, Jardel and Luisinho
Midfielders: Javi García, Bruno César, Nolito, Pablo Aimar, Matic, Witsel, Carlos Martins, Melgarejo, Ola John, Yannick Djaló, Gaitán, Enzo Pérez and Yartey
Forwards: Cardozo, Rodrigo, Saviola, Hugo Vieira, Mora, Alan Kardec and Michel
