Weldon in Benfica for medical tests - 22 July 2009

Brazilian forward Weldon arrived in Lisbon and gave a short statement to the press present at the airport.

"I am very happy to be able to help Benfica in achieving their objectives; to win titles."

"Jorge Jesus is an excellent coach and I hope I stay here for a very long time."

The 28-year old signed a 2 year contract with another year as option. He will undergo the usual medical tests before being officially presented at the Luz.

Weldon is the 6th signing for the new 2009/10 season after Patric, Shaffer, Ramires, Saviola and Javi García.
