Benfica sealed their fourth consecutive league title with a 5-0 thrashing of Vitória de Guimarães at the Estádio da Luz on Saturday evening. The result prompted joyous celebrations inside the stadium, and amongst Benfiquistas all around the world. After the final whistle, the Benfica players and staff shared their emotions with BTV.

A win against Vitória de Guimarães on Saturday would see Benfica clinch a fourth consecutive Primeira Liga title. Rui Vitória has named an unchanged squad, with nobody currently in the treatment room. Once again, André Horta and Lisandro López have not been selected.

Pedro Martins' side will be no pushovers as the Eagles look to make history; they are on a seven match win streak, are unbeaten in eleven league games, and have the second best away record in the Liga NOS.

Benfica are just two points away from lifting their fourth consecutive Primeira Liga trophy, following a nervy 1-0 win over Rio Ave on Sunday night. The Eagles were given a tough test by their Europa League-chasing opponents, with the game’s only goal arriving in the 75th minute, courtesy of Raúl Jiménez. The visiting fans were made to sweat until the final whistle, with FC Porto loanee Gonçalo Paciência striking the post for Rio Ave in the dying minutes.

Speaking after the match, head coach Rui Vitória dedicated the victory to his players and the travelling supporters.
