This is the symbol of Sport Lisboa, founded in 1904. It features a shield with a football in the center with an eagle perched on top. E Pluribus Unum means "Out of many, one".



The symbol of Grupo Sport Benfica, founded in 1906. It features a shield against a background of a bicycle wheel.



In 1908, Sport Lisboa and Grupo Sport Benfica conjoined to form Sport Lisboa e Benfica. The logos of Grupo Sport Benfica and Sport Lisboa were also incorporated to make a new logo. The bicycle wheel remained in the background while the shield, eagle and motto from the Sport Lisboa emblem formed the main parts of the badge.
